Arsenal unveiled a new home strip. The design and colors are more traditional but as long as the club has the Emirates as its sponsor it will always look sub par.The Emirates Stadium now has a Clock End. Work has now been completed on restoring the old clock to back inside the stadium. This is part of the Arsenalisation process instigated by Ivan Gazidis.
It looks as though Cesc Fabregas will stay with Arsenal for another season after realizing that Barcelona cannot afford him. Barca are trying to sell Ya Ya Toure to Manchester City and with money from that transfer, might launch another bid. However, reports also suggest that they will make a bid for Liverpool's Maschereno who plays in the same position as Ya Ya.
The latest rumor about Steven Gerrard is that he's got his sister in law pregnant. The repercussions of the pregnancy started to appear when Rio Ferdinand ruled himself out of the World Cup through injury and Fabio Capello made Gerrard the England captain.
This made John Terry unhappy. He felt that Capello was showing double standards having himself been stripped of the captaincy by the England manager last March.
Terry thus fell out with Capello for making Gerrard the England captain even though the Liverpool midfielder had been caught having an affair - just like Terry had been. Terry then held a press conference stating that the England players were not happy - although they later denied this.
Apparently half of the England squad sided with Terry on this matter saying they felt that Gerrard was a disgrace.
The previous rumor regarding Gerrard was that he got a 16 year old pregnant. No smoke without fire.
On Sunday, the News of the World will reveal that Wayne Rooney has been caught having sex with a prostitute in South Africa while on lock down in the England training camp.
The rumor from the 2006 World Cup was that a player from London/South and his family, who had a bad reputation, and a player based in the north of England and his family were all together in Baden Baden, Germany, with all the WAGS and other hangers on. Supposedly one of the players brothers was caught shagging the mother of the other players family. Both players still play for England.
I just want to mention that Jamie Carragher has a brother and John Terry's mum is divorced from his dad.
The other news is that Roy Hodgson is the new Liverpool boss. He has a job on his hands keeping players like Torres and Mascherano at the club. This comment from Hodgson tells me that he won't be going on a spending spree any time soon:
"One thing they (the Liverpool board) made clear to me is we have to work within whatever restraints are in place at the club."
I will be surprised if Liverpool make the top four next season.
